The cricket match at Bourne organised by Terry Bates was played in brilliant sunshine with one team captained by Mike Gatting and the other by David English.   A vast crowd totally filled the ground to capacity and were not only enthralled by an entertaining cricket match, but also by a Hurricane Fly Past and the RAF  Falcons Freefall Parachute Team.    Surprise guests 'Del Boy' and 'Patsy' sold raffle tickets and persuaded the guests to part with over £2,200.   Richard Todd the famous actor from the Dambusters who lives in Bourne was in attendance all afternoon and happily signed autographs.

We are indebted to Terry Bates who after a brief conversation with his great friends Hugh Morris and David English totally organised the whole event within a matter of a few months and presented a cheque for £6,000 to the Heads Up Appeal.
