Heads Up
The head and neck cancer research charity

It’s not too late to Sponsor one of our runners from the 2008 London Marathon

Marathon 2008
Lucy Gordon
My Dad was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2004. It was a very difficult time for him and the family. It’s great he is doing so well, thanks to all the Head & Neck people in Oxford and support he got from his family and friends.
I am really impressed by the way my dad has got through this challenge and is now determined to look after himself so well, helping decrease the chances of it coming back. I feel I can run a marathon for him, for my family and of course for me too. It will be an individual challenge and an opportunity to raise as much money as possible to help fund research into Head and Neck cancer.

Karen Laing
When my husband, Ralph, was diagnosed with cancer in 2005, our world was turned upside down. Fortunately with determination and the best medical care, the future is now looking much brighter. Experts are not really sure why, but cases of head and neck cancer are on the increase. It used to be associated with heavy drinking or smoking but now many cases have no significant associated risk factors, as was the situation with Ralph.

Heads Up are very fortunate to have been allocated two places in this year’s London
Marathon, giving us the chance to raise some much needed funds for our research.
This is an opportunity which will not be available to us again for about five years
so please consider donating. -
